Why not come along and try something new?

ROTARY CLUB – JUNIOR AWARD

This activity is organised by the Rotary Club of Ludlow and delivered by school staff to Year 6 pupils.  The children take part in wide variety of activities and learn new skills such as first aid and arts and crafts as well as community work such as litter picking and fund raising. They record their achievements in their personal diaries with the year culminating in an award ceremony in Ludlow in July.

MATHLETICS

Children come to school early to logon to Mathletics and complete a variety of maths puzzles, calculations and activities to progress up the different levels.Children can also play ‘live’ against other child competitors (anonymously) and gain points on the worldwide ‘league’. As they progress they will be rewarded with certificates. Children are automatically issued with their own password so that they can play at home and improve their maths skills by ‘playing’ games.

GUITAR LESSONS

Taught by Shropshire Music Service, delivering a programme of structured lessons over the year. This is a very popular club and we now have two groups; beginners and intermediate. This club usually runs at the end or beginning of the school day. This activity is chargeable.

NETBALL

This club is run by Miss Pugh and Mrs Hilton and takes place on Thursday for girls in Years 3 – 6. We enter three teams Crystals, Diamonds and Sapphires in the local primary schools’ league at Cleobury Mortimer Sports Hall throughout the year.

FOOTBALL

Runs in the Autumn. A professional coach from Kidderminster Harrier comes to school twice a week for football coaching for KS1 and KS2 children. This activity is chargable.

CRICKET

This activity is delivered by a fully trained coach from Ludlow Cricket Club as part of the Shropshire Cricket Board 'Chance to Shine' programme. It usually runs for six to eight weeks during the summer term. This activity is chargable.

ART & CRAFT CLUB

This popular club runs at various times throughout the year. Children learn a variety of skills to make and create items that can be taken home. We charge a small amount to cover the cost of the materials.

R&R CLUB (Read and Relax)

This activity runs at lunchtimes lunchtimes where children can relax while they read an assortment of books and magazines.

If you are currently eligible for Free School Meals and would like financial assistance in order for your child to participate in any chargeable activities, please contact the school office in strictest confidence.

Do you have any suggestions for after-school clubs or activities? If so, please contact Mrs Barnsley in the school office and, if there is enough interest, we will do our best to provide it.
