Events

Regular events are held throughout the year to raise money for school funds such as:

  • Sponsored swim
  • End of term discos
  • Non-uniform days
  • Annual School Book Fair
  • Termly Book Club

The school regularly participates in national fundraising events for charities such as Sports Relief, Red Nose Day, Genes for Jeans, Children in Need, Guide Dogs for the Blind and County Air Ambulance.

The school has strong links with the local community. A harvest service and sale of produce is held in October and the funds raised are donated to both Coreley and Clee Hill Pensioners for their annual Christmas parties.

The children in Class 5 travel to Doddington Lodge to sing Christmas Carols to the residents. The school also hosts a local pensioners’ party where the children in Class 5 prepare and serve refreshments.

Children in Year 6 participate in the Rotary Junior Community Award; see the Extended Schools Page for more information.

The school has an enthusiastic PTA, which meets regularly at least each term. The group will be organising some exciting fundraising activities throughout the year to provide additional resources for the school to help improve the learning environment for our children and staff. The school would like to thank the PTA for their enthusiasm and support so far.

The school runs a School Market every May for parents and residents of the village to sell homemade items and produce as well as advertise their services.

We are always collecting tokens from Sainburys ‘Active Kids’, Tesco ‘for Schools and Clubs’, Morrisons ‘Let’s Grow’ and Nestle ‘Box Tops for Books’.

We appreciate every single token we receive as they help to provide a wealth of resources for the school such as equipment for gardening, music, art, sport and technology.

We currently run recycling schemes for ink cartridges and mobile phones; we can provide small plastic bags on request, for you to fill. We also participate in the Bag 2 School textile recycling scheme and organise two collections per year. Both of these schemes help to generate valuable income for school funds.
