Alex is the Chair of Governors at Clee Hill Community Academy and sits on the Shropshire Gateway Educational Trust Board of Directors. He has been a parent governor for the last 2 years and provides a knowledge of business. Alex is a Director of a multi-disciplined contracting Company that’s core business is managing trees and vegetation adjacent to overhead electric networks.
With two children at Clee Hill Community Academy, Alex's motivation is to ensure that the teaching and learning is first class and that governance is in place to ensure compliance. Alex has a specific responsibility for Pupil premium and sports funding spend.
Alison became a Parent Governor in April 2016 having previously been the Chair of Grassroots Playgroup and an active member of the PTA for many years. Alison decided to become a Governor as she wanted to give something back. She is responsible for SEND and EYFS link and is a member of the Standards, Curriculum & Personnel committee. She also has an interest in Safeguarding. As well as being a parent of two children in the Trust, Alison was a manager of a private health Club with over 3,500 members and 20+ staff. In her free time she is a qualified swimming teacher and volunteer coach at Ludlow Swimming Club.
Carla is a Parent Governor with 3 children attending Clee Hill Community Academy or Nursery. Previously, Carla has been actively involved in the Nursery –then known as Grassroots- as a member of the committee for 5 ½ years (as joint chair, secretary and treasurer) before it became part of the Shropshire Gateway Educational Trust.
Carla is currently serving in the Army Reserves and has done so the last 23 years. Her Job is within Logistics which entails, Feeding, Transport, Supplies and clerical to enable the soldiers to carry out their duties. She also does book keeping and accounts from home.
Carla has had links with Clee Hill Community Academy since her eldest son -who is now 20 - attended. Carla joined the governing body in March 2017 and is now safeguarding lead but also has an interest in the Special Educational Needs provision provided by the school.
She feels passionate about Clee Hill Academy and is extremely keen to support the pupils further in her role as Governor. In Carla’s words “It is an enjoyable but challenging journey”
Louise joined the governing body in 2017 as a parent governor and English Link governor. She has worked at Lacon Childe School, part of the Shropshire Gateway Educational Trust, for the past seven years as an English teacher. Previously, she lived and worked in Malawi in an international school for two years and prior to that, she was an English and Drama teacher in Derbyshire.
Louise attended Lacon Childe School as a pupil and previously attended Coreley Primary School, before it closed. Most of her spare time is spent with her three children and her husband, Jon. Her children are currently at Clee Hill Academy or joining the school in the near future. She cares a great deal about the local community.
Julia is a staff governor who works as a Year 1 and 2 teacher at Clee Hill Community Academy. This is her second term of office as a staff governor. She currently sits on the Standards and Curriculum committee to use her experience and knowledge of primary education to help monitor, maintain and raise standards across the curriculum.
Mrs Little became Headteacher of Clee Hill Community Academy in January 2017. Prior to her appointment, Mrs Little was Deputy Headteacher at Ludlow Junior School and has previously worked as SENCO at St Laurence School in Ludlow and at schools in Cheshire, Warwickshire and Auckland, New Zealand. Mrs Little has three boys, who are all educated within the Shropshire Gateway Educational Trust. She runs in her spare time and enjoys all outdoor activities.
