COPE - Certificate of Personal Effectiveness
The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness is a nationally recognised qualification run by ASDAN. The qualification offers imaginative ways of accrediting young people's activities. It offers a way of recording and rewarding a wide range of personal qualities, abilities, skills and achievements of young people, as well as introducing them to new activities and challenges and encouraging independence.
The CoPE course is provided by ASDAN and comprises 12 modules:
||Citizenship & Community
|Sport & Leisure
||Vocational & Diploma Preparation
|Health & Fitness
||Work Related & Enterprise

There is no exam; however, students will build up a Portfolio of evidence throughout the course which must also demonstrate their competence in 6 main skills: Working with Others, Improving Own Learning, Problem Solving, Research, Discussion and Oral Presentation.
This is a TWO year course at GCSE level which offers students the opportunity to achieve a qualification that is recognised nationally at many colleges and universities as well as a great number of potential employers.
