Library & Reading Resources

The Library supports learning across the curriculum and has a key role in encouraging the habit of reading for pleasure and supporting the lifelong benefits that reading brings.

It's great if you can read but the question is: do you read? If you do, the world is yours.

Michael Rosen, Children's Laureate 2007-2009

The Library is based at the centre of the school and includes a comprehensive selection of both non-fiction and fiction books to support learning at all stages.

The non-fiction books in the library directly support the school curriculum and are, therefore, largely chosen by the teaching and library staff. The fiction section, however, is chosen with students based on both popularity and creating an exciting choice to read.

The Library is managed with software called Eclipse which can be accessed from home. The entire library stock, as well as useful websites, can be accessed through Eclipse to help with homework and studies; a summary and reviews of books can be read at home and books can be reserved for later collection.
